Description

Pinom C Tablet is a combination medicine used for the treatment of uncontrolled hypertension. Patients are advised to maintain a strict exercise and diet regimen along with this medicine to get the best possible effect. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients below 18 years of age.

Allergy

Coadministration of aliskiren and this combination medicine is not recommended due to the increased risk of serious adverse effects. This risk is especially higher in the elderly population and in patients with diabetes and kidney diseases.

Heart diseases

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients having heart conditions like heart attack, rhythm disorders, angina, narrowing of blood vessels etc. due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Severe renal impairment

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with severe renal impairment due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Severe liver impairment

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver impairment due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

General warnings

Aortic Stenosis

This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients suffering from aortic stenosis due to the increased risk of a very low blood pressure. Close monitoring of blood pressure is recommended for such patients. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.

Use in Children

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients below 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.

Hyperkalemia

Use of this medicine may increase the potassium levels in the blood (hyperkalemia). This may cause serious side effects such as fatal cardiac rhythm irregularities. It is advised to avoid potassium-rich foods (potatoes, bananas) and other medicines that may increase potassium levels (potassium-sparing diuretics and potassium supplements) during treatment with this medicine.

Heart attack

This medicine should be used with caution while starting or increasing the dose in patients with coronary artery diseases as it may worsen the symptoms of heart attack.

Liver impairment

This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patient's suffering from liver diseases due to an increase in the risk of serious adverse effects. Close monitoring of liver function is advised while taking this medicine. Report any unusual symptoms to the doctor on priority. Renal impairment

How it works
Olmesartan works by blocking a receptor and prevents the blood vessel constriction. Cilnidipine acts by blocking the influx of calcium (responsible for contraction of blood vessels) and causes relaxation, thereby promoting the smooth flow of blood. Their combination is thus effective in reducing the blood pressure.
