Oxymetazoline

Description

Oxymetazoline acts as a nasal decongestant. It relieves the nasal discomfort associated with hay fever, sinusitis, allergies, and a common cold. It can also be used as an ophthalmic agent to reduce the swelling of the blood vessels in the eyes, thereby temporarily reducing their redness. Use of this medicine in children less than 6 years of age is not recommended unless instructed by the doctor.

Missed Dose

If a dose is missed, take the dose as soon as you remember it. If it is almost the time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.

This medicine should be administered with caution in patients having diabetes due to the increased risk of elevated blood glucose levels, especially when used for a prolonged period of time or more than prescribed. Benign prostatic hyperplasia

Caution is advised while using this medicine in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia due to the risk of increased difficulty with urination. The risk is especially higher if the medicine is used for a prolonged period of time or higher amounts of the medicine are used. Report any adverse effects to the doctor immediately.
