Oxybutynin

Description

Oxybutynin is used for the treatment of an overactive bladder as well as other nervous system conditions that affect the bladder muscles. The symptoms of these conditions may include a frequent feeling of a need to urinate, sudden urge to urinate, inability to control urination, leakage of urine, etc. It may also be used for the treatment of excessive sweating.

Allergy

Narrow angle glaucoma

Toxic megacolon

Gastrointestinal obstructive disorders

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients suffering from gastrointestinal obstructive disorders such as paralytic ileus, intestinal atony, etc. since it may worsen the patient's condition.

Liver impairment

Driving or operating machines

Use of this medicine may cause symptoms such as dizziness, drowsiness, blurred vision, etc. in some patients. It is advised that you do not perform any activities such as driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you experience any of these symptoms during treatment with this medicine.

Fever and heat stroke

This medicine may cause heat prostration (fever and heat stroke), a condition of overheating of the body due to decreased sweating, in some patients. Patients are advised to drink an adequate amount of fluids to avoid overheating of the body. Appropriate corrective measures, dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary in some cases based on the clinical condition of the patient.
