Description
Otrinoz Paediatric Nasal Drops is a combination medicine which may be used an effective nasal decongestant. It shrinks the blood vessels present in the nose and relieves stuffy nose caused due to allergies, sinus infections, and a common cold. The sorbitol in this formula acts as a moisturizing agent which prevents the drying out of the inner lining of the nose.

General warnings

Increase in blood pressure

Use of this medicine may cause and increase in the blood pressure levels and hence should be used with caution in patients who are hypertensive.

Use of this medicine has been associated with an increased risk of adverse effects on the cardiovascular system and hence should be used with caution if you have an active disease of the heart.

Thyroid gland disorder

This medicine should be used with caution in patients suffering from a disorder of the thyroid gland. You might need to undergo certain tests to determine the safe and effective use of this medicine.

Diabetes

Use of this medicine can alter the blood sugar levels and hence should be used with caution in patients who are diabetic. Regular monitoring of blood glucose levels is necessary for such patients. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition.

Difficulty in urination

Use of this medicine can cause pain and difficulty in urination for patients having an enlarged prostate gland. It should be used with caution in such cases.

Prolonged usage

This medicine should not be used for more than 3 times a day as prolonged exposure may cause the congestion to recur or worsen.

Neurosurgery

This medicine is not recommended for use if you have recently had a surgery to remove pituitary gland tumor or other surgeries that may expose the outer layers of the brain.
