Otocin D Eye/Ear Drops is a combination of Chloramphenicol, Polymyxin B, and Dexamethasone. This medicine is used to treat eye and ear infections caused by bacteria. It works by killing the infection-causing bacteria. It also reduces pain and swelling associated with an infection. This medicine is effective only for the treatment of infections caused by bacteria and not viruses or fungi. Otocin D Eye/Ear Drops may cause some side effects like burning sensation, irritation, and dryness of the eyes. These symptoms usually subside on their own. However, consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or if they become severe. Otocin D Eye/Ear Drops is meant for use in eyes and ears only. It should be instilled as prescribed by your doctor. Continue taking this medicine for the prescribed duration. Skipping doses or not completing the full course of treatment may increase the risk of re-infection that would be difficult to treat in the future. Otocin D Eye/Ear Drops is not recommended if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you are using any other eye/ear drops or have any other eye/ear problems.
