Description

Oratil 250 MG Tablet is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat a variety of conditions like Lyme disease and infections of the ears, lungs, and urinary tract caused by bacteria. It is recommended to use an oral suspension to avoid a bitter taste or if you cannot swallow tablets. This medicine is not recommended for use if you have a known allergy to penicillins and cephalosporins.

    Oratil 250 MG Tablet is used in the treatment of Otitis Media, which is an inflammation of the middle ear, caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
  • Sinusitis

    Oratil 250 MG Tablet is used in the treatment of sinusitis, a condition in which the cavities around nasal passages become inflamed and swollen, caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae.
  • Bronchitis

    This medicine is not recommended for use if the patient has a known allergy to Oratil 250 MG Tablet or any other Beta-lactam antibiotics like penicillins and cephalosporins.

Report any incidence of severe diarrhea, abdominal pain, and blood in the stools after taking Oratil 250 MG Tablet to the doctor on priority. Drink an adequate amount of water to prevent dehydration.

    - This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary. If the medicine is used, close monitoring of the infant for any undesired effects is necessary.

General warnings

  • Allergy

    - This medicine is not recommended for use if you have a known allergy to Oratil 250 MG Tablet or other Beta-lactam antibiotics like penicillins and cephalosporins. Seek immediate medical attention if the patient experiences any allergic symptoms like rash, itching, nausea or vomiting, swelling of the lips, hands, and feet.
  • Clostridium difficile-associated Diarrhea

    - Antibiotic therapy will cause an imbalance in the normal microbial flora of the large intestine, which may promote the growth of a bacteria called Clostridium difficile and you may experience severe diarrhea as a result. Report any such incidence to the doctor on priority and avoid usage of Oratil 250 MG Tablet in such cases.
  • Impaired kidney function

    - This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a preexisting kidney disease. Appropriate dose adjustments are to be made based on CrCl or eGFR.
  • Drug-resistance

    - Usage of Oratil 250 MG Tablet without sufficient proof or suspicion of a bacterial infection should be avoided. Irrational dosing might fail in providing the benefits and even cause toxicity. It may also increase the risk of development of bacteria that are drug resistant.
  • Age less than 3 months

    - Use of Oratil 250 MG Tablet is not recommended for infants less than 3 months of age.
