Description
Ocupol Eye Ointment is a combination of Chloramphenicol and Polymyxin B. It is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial eyes infections affecting the cornea (a transparent layer that covers the front part of your eye) and/or conjunctiva (the clear membrane that covers the white part of the eye and inner surface of the eyelids). It stops the growth and multiplication of bacteria that cause infection. Ocupol Eye Ointment may cause side effects like irritation, redness, itching of eyes, watery eyes, etc. Consult your doctor if these side effects get worsen. This medicine may cause blurred vision after applying the medicine. Therefore, avoid driving vehicles until your vision is clear. Ocupol Eye Ointment is meant for topical administration to the eyes only. Use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Continue using this medicine for the prescribed duration. Skipping doses or not completing the full course of treatment may increase the risk of re-infection that would be difficult to treat in the future. Ocupol Eye Ointment is not recommended if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you are using any other eye drops/ointment or have any other eye problems. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding before using this medicine.

Avoid touching the tip of the dropper against your eye or other surfaces. Close the cover of the tube after administration to keep it clean and free from contamination. Do not wipe or rinse the tip of the tube. Do not touch your eyes with unwashed hands.
