Description
Obet G Cream is a topical medicine used to treat bacterial skin infections. It is used for a short period to relieve redness, swelling, and itching associated with these skin problems. Obet G Cream reduces the production of certain chemicals in your body and reduces inflammation on your skin. It also prevents the growth of bacteria. Obet G Cream may cause side effects like burning, itching, and redness at the application site. These symptoms last only for a very few days and disappear with time as your body adjusts to the medicine. It is recommended that you perform a patch test (a procedure done on your skin to see if you are allergic to the cream) before using it on the affected skin. Obet G Cream is for external use only. Apply a thin layer of this cream to the affected areas as prescribed by your doctor. Avoid wrapping any bandages to the affected area. It may take a few days or weeks for the results to show. Use this medicine only for the prescribed duration. Obet G Cream is not recommended if you are allergic to it. This medicine should not be used for skin infections that are not associated with swelling. Obet G Cream should not be used in children less than 12 years of age unless prescribed by your doctor. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, or are breastfeeding before using this medicine.

Allergy

Acne

Acne is a skin condition that occurs when your hair follicles get blocked by oil and dead skin cells. It may cause whiteheads, blackheads, or pimples. Obet G Cream is not used for the treatment of acne as using steroids can make the sebaceous glands (oil glands) susceptible to swelling and infections.

Pruritus without inflammation

The use of Obet G Cream is not recommended for the treatment of skin itching that is not associated with swelling. In such cases, it can worsen your skin condition.

External use

Obet G Cream is prescribed only for external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes, nose, mouth, genital area (private part), or any open wounds while using this cream. Rinse immediately with water if the cream comes in contact with these areas.

Apply the missed dose of Obet G Cream as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not apply a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

Cushing's syndrome

Cushing's syndrome is a disorder in which your body makes too much of a hormone called cortisol. Prolonged use of Obet G Cream may lead to absorption of this drug in the body through your skin and cause Cushing's syndrome. Consult your doctor immediately, if you experience symptoms like swelling of the face, increase in blood glucose levels, high blood pressure, etc. Your doctor may advise a gradual withdrawal of this medicine by decreasing the frequency or use an alternate medicine.

Obet G Cream is used to treat bacterial skin infections. Apply this cream in a thin layer over the infected area. Clean the infected area gently before applying the cream. Do not apply this cream over open wounds or broken skin. This cream may initially burn or sting as soon as you apply it. Inform your doctor if the burning and stinging sensation continues. Avoid touching or scratching the infected area as it further spread the infection. Avoid covering the application area with bandages or other coverings unless specifically instructed by your doctor. Contact your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or resolve. Avoid using it for more than the prescribed duration.

Obet G Cream is composed of Clobetasone and Gentamicin. Clobetasone is a topical corticosteroid.
