Description
New Zix RP Capsule is a combination of Aceclofenac and Rabeprazole. It is used to relieve pain, stiffness, and swelling associated with conditions such as osteoarthritis (wearing off of the flexible tissues at the ends of your bones), rheumatoid arthritis (pain and swelling in the small joints), ankylosing spondylitis (fusion of small bones in the spine), sprains or strain, lower back pain, etc. Aceclofenac relieves pain and Rabeprazole prevents acidity and ulceration that may be caused by the use of Aceclofenac. New Zix RP Capsule may cause some side effects like nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain, etc. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or become worse. Avoid driving vehicles or operating machines after taking this medicine as it may cause dizziness in some cases. New Zix RP Capsule may be taken with or without food. The dose and duration of treatment will be decided by your doctor based on the severity of your condition. Take this medicine at the same time daily for the ease of remembering. Do not discontinue this medicine without consulting your doctor, as it may worsen your symptoms. New Zix RP Capsule is not recommended for use if you are allergic to Aceclofenac, Rabeprazole, or any other ingredients present in this formulation. Inform your doctor if you have heart, liver, or kidney problems, NSAID-sensitive asthma (narrowing of the airways due to the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines), or osteoporosis (a condition with weak and brittle bones) before taking this medicine. New Zix RP Capsule is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age as the safety and efficacy data are not clinically available. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding before taking this medication.

Allergy

New Zix RP Capsule is not recommended for use if you are allergic to Aceclofenac, Rabeprazole, or any other ingredients present in this formulation. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, hives (itchy, painful eruptions that sting), itching/swelling (especially of your face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, difficulty breathing, etc.

Gastrointestinal bleeding

Peptic ulcers are sores on the lining of your stomach and intestine that may further lead to bleeding. The symptoms are blood in stools/vomit, black coloured stool, cramps in the stomach, etc. New Zix RP Capsule is not recommended for use if you have active or a history of repetitive peptic ulcers and bleeding, as it may worsen your condition.

NSAID-induced asthma

Asthma is a condition in which your airways narrow and causes breathing difficulty. New Zix RP Capsule is not recommended for use if you have a history of asthma after taking NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines like Paracetamol, Ibuprofen, Aspirin, etc.).

Severe Liver/Kidney Impairment

New Zix RP Capsule is not recommended for use if you have severe liver and/or kidney problems. This medicine may further damage your liver and/or kidneys and worsen your condition.

Lupus erythematosus

Systemic lupus erythematosus is a condition in which your immune system attacks your body. New Zix RP Capsule should be used with caution if you have systemic lupus erythematosus, as it may further worsen your condition.

Vitamin B12 Deficiency

New Zix RP Capsule should be used with caution due to the increased risk of Vitamin B12 deficiency. This risk is especially higher if the medicine is used for a prolonged period. Your doctor may recommend appropriate vitamin B12 supplementation or replacement with a suitable alternative based on your clinical condition.

Heart Diseases

High doses of New Zix RP Capsule should be used with caution if you have pre-existing heart conditions like heart failure (a condition in which your heart is unable to pump a sufficient amount of blood), ischaemic heart diseases (heart problems due to narrowing of the blood vessels that supply oxygen to the heart), etc. This medicine may cause fluid retention (abnormal build-up of fluid in the body) and also increase the risk of a heart attack. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

Use in children

New Zix RP Capsule is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age as the safety and efficacy data are not clinically established.

Driving vehicles or operating machines

New Zix RP Capsule may cause dizziness or drowsiness in some cases. Avoid performing activities that require high mental alertness like driving vehicles or operating machines if you experience such symptoms while taking this medicine.

Hypomagnesaemia

Prolonged use of New Zix RP Capsule may increase the risk of hypomagnesaemia (low blood magnesium levels). Hence, inform your doctor if you experience any symptoms like numbness/tingling in your hands/feet, muscle cramps, seizures (fits), irregular heartbeat, etc.

Bleeding disorders

New Zix RP Capsule may prolong the blood clotting time and increase the risk of bleeding. Hence, use this medicine with caution if you have bleeding or clotting defects such as haemophilia (a condition that affects the body's ability to form a proper blood clot), vitamin K deficiency, and hypoprothrombinemia (deficiency of blood clotting substance).

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose of New Zix RP Capsule as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Overdose

Never take more than the prescribed dose of New Zix RP Capsule. Contact your doctor in case of an overdose for further guidance.

Liver Disease

Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis is a condition in which your bones become weak and brittle. It also increases the risk of bone fractures. New Zix RP Capsule when taken in high doses for a prolonged period (a year or longer) may increase the risk of osteoporosis-related fractures. Hence, it should be used with caution if you have osteoporosis.

Gastro-Intestinal toxicity

Avoid long-term use of New Zix RP Capsule as it may cause damage to your stomach and intestine. Conditions like bleeding, ulceration (sores in the lining of the stomach and intestine), and perforation (holes that form in the walls of the stomach and intestine) can occur. If you experience symptoms like indigestion, vomit with blood, or appearance of coffee-coloured dry blood in the stools, etc., consult your doctor immediately.

Impaired kidney function

New Zix RP Capsule should be used with caution if you have mild to moderate kidney problems as this medicine may cause a decline in kidney function. Your doctor may recommend tests to monitor your kidney function and recommend appropriate dose adjustments based on your clinical condition.
