ContainsGlycerin (15 %w/v) + Sodium Chloride (15 %w/v)
Description
Neotomic Enema is a combination of Glycerin and Sodium Chloride, used to treat constipation. It is also used in people who are bed-ridden for easy defecation (passing of stool from the body). This medicine may also be used by the doctor to empty the bowel before undergoing certain surgery or colonoscopy (a procedure to examine the large intestine and rectum) and for post-operative care. Neotomic Enema works by drawing water into the colon (large intestine) that softens the stool and promotes movement of the intestine, thus allowing easy passage of the stool. Neotomic Enema may cause side effects like vomiting, stomach irritation, cramps, and irritation and burning sensation at the site of application. Consult your doctor if these side effects are getting persistent or worse. Neotomic Enema is administered by a qualified healthcare professional in a hospital/clinic or may be used at home as instructed by your doctor. This medicine is for rectal use only. Follow the instructions mentioned on the label or the packaging insert. Neotomic Enema is not recommended for use if you are allergic to it or recently have had colon (large intestine) surgery. Inform your doctor about all your current medications and pre-existing medical conditions to avoid any side effects.
