Description
Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet is a combination of Hydrochlorothiazide and Nebivolol. This medicine is used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). This medicine reduces heart rate that makes your heart efficient in pumping blood throughout your body and excretes water from your body and decreases high blood pressure. Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet has some common side effects such as nausea, headache, diarrhoea, and upset stomach. Due to the action of this medicine, you may experience frequent urination. Drink plenty of fluids while taking medicine to overcome muscle weakness, dry mouth, and extreme thirst. Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet may cause dizziness, therefore avoid driving vehicles and operating machines. If any of these side effects do not resolve with time or get worse, consult your doctor immediately. Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to it. Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet should be taken with or without food, preferably in the morning to avoid frequent urination at night. Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly as it raises your blood pressure, thereby increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke. Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet should be used with caution if you have liver disease, kidney disease, heart disease and altered potassium or magnesium levels. This medicine can hide symptoms of low blood sugar if you're diabetic. To make sure Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet is safe for you, share your entire medical and medication history with your doctor. Inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or are breastfeeding. This medicine is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 18 years of age.

Allergy

Heart diseases

Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet is not recommended for use in patients with heart diseases such as: 1. Heart block (a condition where the heart beats more slowly or with an abnormal rhythm when the electrical signal that controls your heartbeat is partially or completely blocked) 2. Sinus bradycardia (Sinus bradycardia is a heart rate between 50 to 60 beats per minute at rest). 3. Heart failure (a condition in which the heart is not able to pump enough blood to meet your body's demand for blood and oxygen). 4. Cardiogenic shock (a condition in which suddenly stops pumping enough oxygen-rich blood). 5. Sick sinus syndrome (it is the name for several conditions of the heart in which the sinus node in your heart doesn't work efficiently to create a heartbeat).

Kidney disease

Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet is not recommended in patients having kidney disease as it can increase the risk of Azotemia (an elevation of blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and serum creatinine levels). Taking Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet in severe kidney impaired patients (Crcl < 30 ml/min) is also not recommended as this medicine may accumulate in the kidneys and worsens the compromised kidneys.

Pregnancy

Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing this medicine to you.

Breast-feeding

General warnings

Volume and electrolyte depletion

Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet may alter your blood volume and electrolyte levels. This may cause dizziness, dry mouth, and acid-base imbalance. This risk is especially higher if there are kidney and liver diseases. Close monitoring of blood pressure and electrolyte levels is recommended.

Major surgery

Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet should be stopped few days before undergoing major surgery due to the increased risk of side effects. Close monitoring of heart function is recommended in such cases.

Peripheral vascular disease

Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet may aggravate symptoms of arterial insufficiency (decreased blood flow or lack of blood flow through your arteries) in peripheral vascular disease (reduced circulation of blood to a body part other than your brain or heart caused by a narrowed or blocked blood vessel).

Hyperkalemia

Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet may increase hyperkalemia (potassium levels in your blood). It is advisable to avoid potassium-rich foods (potatoes, bananas) and potassium supplements during treatment with this medicine.

Hypotension

Symptomatic hypotension (low blood pressure) may occur with volume depletion (excess loss of salt and fluid leading to reduced fluid volume) or patients who are treated with high-dose diuretics (medication that increases the removal of water and salt from your body via urine). Correct this condition before initiating treatment with Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet.

Driving or operating vehicle

Use of Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet may cause symptoms such as drowsiness, blurred vision, or dizziness. Avoid performing any activities that require high mental alertness like driving vehicles or operating machines during treatment with this medicine if you experience any of these symptoms.

Use in children

Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below the age of 18 years because safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.

Missed Dose

If you missed a dose of Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If the timing for the next dose is near, skip the missed dose. Take your next dose at your usual time. Do not double the dose.

Overdose

If you suspect that you might have taken an overdose of Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet, go to the emergency department of your local hospital.

Hyperuricemia

Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet should be used with caution if there is hyperuricemia (increased uric acid levels in the blood). This medicine decreases uric acid excretion and increases uric acid in your blood.

Asthma

Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet should be used with caution if there is asthma (constriction of airways of your lungs) as this medicine may worsen the condition.

Diabetes

Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet should be used with caution if there is Diabetes mellitus due to the increased risk of altered blood glucose levels.

Glaucoma

Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet should be used with caution if there is glaucoma (angle-closer glaucoma). Symptoms include acute onset of decreased vision typically occurs within hours to weeks of starting the therapy.

Hyperlipidaemia

Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet should be used with caution if there is hyperlipidemia (high levels of fat in your blood). It may increase cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

Hyperthyroidism

Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet should be used with caution if there is hyperthyroidism (increased thyroid levels in your blood) as it may mask the symptoms of hypothyroidism like tachycardia (increased heartbeat). Moreover, the abrupt withdrawal of Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet may aggravate the symptoms of this condition.

Pheochromocytoma

Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet should be used with caution if there is a known or suspected pheochromocytoma (tumour of the adrenal gland). Your doctor may initiate an α-blocker medicine prior to the use of any β-blocker.

It may cause dizziness, therefore get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position. Monitor your blood sugar levels regularly as this medicine hides the symptoms of diabetes. Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet may cause dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids and inform your doctor if you develop extreme thirst, muscle weakness or very dry mouth. Do not break, crush or chew the tablet in your mouth.

Nebilong H (12.5/5 mg) Tablet is a combination of Hydrochlorothiazide and Nebivolol. Hydrochlorothiazide increases the excretion of water and sodium through your urine.
