Description
Narcogin Forte Tablet is used to relieve mild to moderately severe pain. It provides fast and effective relief from migraine headaches, toothaches, backaches, period pain, and musculoskeletal pain especially arthritis-related pain. Narcogin Forte Tablet is used in patients where treatment with an opioid is appropriate or who have not adequately responded to non-opioid analgesics. Side effects of Narcogin Forte Tablet are stomach pain, constipation, sleepiness, dizziness, nausea, and vomiting. It can also cause life-threatening breathing problems and the risk of abuse, misuse, and addiction. Narcogin Forte Tablet is banned for use in India due to its severe adverse effects.

Allergy

Avoid taking Narcogin Forte Tablet if you are previously allergic to it. Serious allergic reactions to this medicine are rare. However, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of serious allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, or breathing difficulties.

Severe liver impairment

Patients with liver diseases need special dose consideration while taking Narcogin Forte Tablet. This medicine gets converted to its active form in the liver. Therefore, if you take large amounts of this medicine, more active forms are formed which can damage your liver. The use of this medicine is not recommended in patients with severe liver diseases because it can further increase the risk of liver damage.

Respiratory depression

Respiratory depression is a condition of slow and ineffective exchange of breathing gases- oxygen and carbon dioxide in the lungs. Narcogin Forte Tablet can cause respiratory depression, in part by a direct effect on the brainstem respiratory centres. Hence it is not recommended for use in patients with respiratory depression, in the absence of resuscitative equipment, due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Asthma

Patients with asthma may experience allergic reactions while taking Narcogin Forte Tablet. Hence it is not recommended for use in patients with asthma, especially those who had experienced allergic reactions with the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines.

Pregnancy

Narcogin Forte Tablet is not recommended for use during pregnancy due to the risk of harmful effects on your baby.

Breast-feeding

Narcogin Forte Tablet is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. An alternate medicine may be preferred, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant. If required, it should only be used upon your doctor's recommendation.
General warnings

Liver diseases

Patients with liver diseases should ask their pharmacist how the Narcogin Forte Tablet may affect their liver or react with other medicines they take. The conversion of Narcogin Forte Tablet to its active form happens in the liver. Overdose can produce more active forms and leads to liver damage.

Driving or operating machinery

Narcogin Forte Tablet may cause sleepiness, blurred vision or dizziness in some patients. Hence it is advised not to drive vehicles and operate heavy machinery after taking this medicine.

Drug dependence

Long-term treatment with Narcogin Forte Tablet may result in drug dependence. This can increase the risk of abuse, misuse, and addiction.

Intracranial pressure

Narcogin Forte Tablet is not recommended to be used in patients with head injury or intracranial lesions as it is reported to increase the intracranial pressure (pressure inside the skull and on the brain) and worsen the patient's condition.

Allergic skin reactions

Narcogin Forte Tablet may cause serious skin allergies without any warnings. These events may be fatal in rare cases. Signs and symptoms like rashes, hives, fever, or other allergic symptoms should be reported to the doctor immediately. The treatment should be discontinued if these symptoms appear.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose of Narcogin Forte Tablet as soon as you remember. If it is almost the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.

Seek medical emergency in case of an overdose with Narcogin Forte Tablet.

Hypotension

Hypothyroidism

5-HIAA Urine Test

Narcogin Forte Tablet can interfere with a urine test and may give a false-positive result. It is advised to inform the doctor and lab technician about all your current medicines before undergoing any lab test.
