Nandrolone belongs to a group of medicine known as anabolic steroids. This medicine promotes tissue building processes and production of proteins. It is used for the management of anemia and osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.

Peanut allergy

This medicine may contain Arachis oil which is obtained from peanuts and hence should not be used by patients who are allergic to peanuts or soya.

Virilisation

This medicine can cause Virilisation which could make female voice hoarse and very deep and hence should be used with caution.

Pediatric use

This medicine should not be administered to children and adolescents who are yet to attain puberty. Use of this medicine could interfere with the growth and sexual development process.

Misuse by sportsperson

This medicine should not be used by sportspersons or body builders to enhance performance and muscle growth as the risk of adverse effects are very high. World anti-doping agency and other sports bodies have banned the use of this medicine by active sportspersons.

Other disease

This medicine works by improving the tissue building and protein formation capacity of the body. Hence it is likely to impact other conditions or diseases you might suffer from. Report the incidence of any disease especially of the heart and blood vessels, cancers, metabolic disorders to the doctor before receiving this medicine.

Carcinoma in males

Use of this medicine is not recommended in male patients suffering from the carcinoma of the breast or prostate. The tumor may grow even further worsening the cancer if this medicine is used.

Fluid retention and edema

Use of this medicine is known to cause fluid retention in the body and hence should be administered cautiously in patients having fluid retention disease or edema.

Hyperlipoproteinemia

Use of this medicine can interfere with the fat and cholesterol levels in the body and may significantly increase the risk of diseases of heart and blood vessels. Hence it should be used with extreme caution in patients having high fat and lipid levels or disease of the heart and blood vessels.

Liver Disease

This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients having an impaired liver function or a liver disease. Suitable dose adjustments and clinical safety monitoring are recommended in such cases.

Bleeding disorders

This medicine can interfere with the normal blood clotting and hence should be administered cautiously in patients with pre-existing bleeding disorders.

Diabetes
