Description

Nance 200 MG Tablet is obtained from plant sources and has a similar action to the female hormone, progesterone. It is used to correct menstrual disorders caused due to a deficiency of this hormone in the body. It is also used as a component in hormone replacement therapy and for maintenance of early pregnancy under specific circumstances.

What is it prescribed for?

Uses of Nance 200 MG Tablet

  • Post menopausal hormonal replacement therapy

    This medicine is used along with estrogen in women who have achieved menopause, but haven't undergone a surgery to remove the uterus (hysterectomy).
  • Amenorrhoea

    This medicine is used to treat absence of menstruation in women of childbearing potential due to a lack of progesterone in their body.
  • Dysfunctional uterine bleeding

    This medicine is also used to treat abnormal bleeding from the vagina due to changes in hormone levels but are not caused by a pregnancy or miscarriage.
  • Endometrial hyperplasia

    This medicine is used to prevent this condition where the female sex hormones are imbalanced and heavy bleeding or intermittent bleeding between periods are experienced.
  • Progesterone deficiency during pregnancy

    This medicine is used for prevention of miscarriages and maintenance of pregnancy in conditions where luteal phase progesterone hormone levels are significantly low. However, it should not be used during later stages of pregnancy (later part of 2nd trimester and the 3rd trimester).
  • Premenstrual syndrome

    This medicine is also used for the treatment of symptoms experienced due to periodic changes in sex hormone levels as a part of the menstrual cycle.
  • Contraception

    This medicine may also be used as a vaginally inserted dosage form to achieve contraception.

Contraindications of Nance 200 MG Tablet

  • Allergy

    This medicine is not recommended for use if you have a known history of allergy to progesterone or any other ingredient present with it. This medicine might contain peanut oil and should never be used by patients who are allergic to peanuts.
  • Abnormal vaginal bleeding

    This medicine is not recommended for use if you have an abnormal bleeding episode which has not been diagnosed by a doctor.
  • Breast cancer

    This medicine is not recommended for use if you have breast cancer or are suspected to have it. It is not recommended for use if the patient has a history of breast cancer.
  • Miscarriage

    This medicine is not recommended for use if the patient has had an incomplete miscarriage or missed abortion recently.
  • Heart and blood vessel disorder

    This medicine is not recommended for use in patients having an active or historic instance of stroke or heart attack. It should not be used by patients having an active or historic clotting disorder.
  • Liver disease

    This medicine is not recommended for use in patients having a liver disease or impairment of normal liver function.
  • Second and third trimester of pregnancy

    This medicine is not recommended for use during the late stages of the second trimester and for the entire third trimester of pregnancy. It should not be used during pregnancies where luteal phase progesterone deficiency is not clinically established.

Dosage

  • Missed Dose

    Take the missed dose as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for the next scheduled dose. Contact your doctor if you have missed more than one dose.
  • Overdose

    Contact your doctor if an overdose is suspected. The short-term effects of an overdose could be a headache, dizziness, nausea, and vomiting.

Take Nance 200 MG Tablet as prescribed by the doctor. Follow all dosing instruction mentioned on the label. It is advised to take this medicine at bedtime with sufficient quantity of water. Do not take this medicine for durations shorter or longer than recommended by your doctor. You are advised to regularly examine your breasts for the presence of lumps while using this medicine.

    - Use of this medicine can cause dizziness and impair the ability to perform tasks requiring cognition and alertness. Caution is advised while driving or performing other tasks that demand a high level of mental alertness. You are advised to take the medicine at recommended times to avoid any such effect.
  • Breast cancer

    - Use of this medicine in conjugation with estradiol for hormone replacement therapy has been associated with instances of breast cancer and hence caution is advised. This medicine should be given with extreme caution to patients with a previous or active case of breast cancer.
  • Blood clotting disorders

    - Use of this medicine is not recommended for patients having a clotting disorder. It is advised to undergo a test to confirm if the medicine can be safely used. Report any instance of such disease to the doctor.
  • Bleeding disorders

    - Use of this medicine is not recommended if you have severe undiagnosed vaginal bleeding.
  • Fluid retention

    - Use of this medicine is known to cause mild to moderate amounts of fluid retention in the body. Hence, caution is advised while administering in patients with diseases like epilepsy, asthma, migraine, heart and blood vessel disorders, kidney impairment etc.
  • Depression

    - Use of this medicine is known to cause a varying amount of depression in different individuals. It should be carefully prescribed in patients having a history of depression. Use of this medicine should be discontinued if the depressive episode becomes more frequent and severe.
  • Metabolic disorders

    - Use of this medicine is known to interfere with the fat and sugar metabolism in the body. it should be prescribed with caution in patients suffering from metabolic disorders like diabetes, high cholesterol etc.
  • Vision abnormalities

    - Use of this medicine can cause blurring of vision and other effects on the eye like proptosis, diplopia etc. Patients should be carefully examined to confirm if they can safely use this medicine. Any side effects like blurred vision, excessive drying of eyes should be reported to the doctor.
  • Other medicine

    - This medicine can interact with a large number of medicines and hence it is recommended to report the use of all medicines including supplements and herbs to the doctor. The vaginal form of this medicine should be used with other gels or ointments after a sufficient time gap.
  • Liver disease

    - This medicine should be used with caution in patients having a liver disease or an impairment of normal liver function.
  • Peanut allergy

    - This medicine is not recommended for use if you have a known history of allergy to peanuts.
  • Use during pregnancy
