Description
Myfexim-OF Dry Syrup is an antibacterial medication that consists of Cefixime and Ofloxacin. It is used in children for the treatment of typhoid fever, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections and lower respiratory infections. It is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Myfexim-OF Dry Syrup kills the bacteria and stops further growth of infection. Myfexim-OF Dry Syrup show some side effects like diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Consult your doctor if any side effects persist or bother your child. Do not use this medicine if your child is previously allergic to it. It is an effective medicine that can be given to children. Myfexim-OF Dry Syrup can be given with or without food. Before administration, dissolve the powder in a glass of water. For the ease of remembering, give the dry syrup to your child at the same time every day. Once you started using this medicine for your child, ensure that the entire course of treatment is completed. Avoid unnecessary use of Myfexim-OF Dry Syrup as excessive use may cause the bacteria to become resistant to treatment. Myfexim-OF Dry Syrup is not recommended for use in cases of a common cold, flu, or other viral infections. This medicine may not be suitable for all children. Inform the paediatrician about your child’s complete medical history, including any previous episode of allergy, birth defects, heart, lung, gastrointestinal, liver or kidney problem before using this medicine.

Allergy

Treatment course

Allergic skin reaction

Myfexim-OF Dry Syrup is likely to cause allergic skin reactions in some children. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, or severe itching/swelling, especially on the face. It can also make children more sensitive to sunlight or tanning lights.

Diarrhoea

Kidney diseases

Myfexim-OF Dry Syrup is filtered by the kidney and excreted through urine. Hence, maintain caution while using Myfexim-OF Dry Syrup if your child has any kidney problem as it can increase the risk of kidney damage.

Myfexim-OF Dry Syrup is used in treating bacterial infections. You can give this medicine with or without food as prescribed by your paediatrician. Dissolve the required amount of Myfexim-OF Dry Syrup in a glass of water. Make sure that your child takes the necessary volume of Myfexim-OF Dry Syrup. Make sure that you should complete the entire course of this medicine even if the symptoms disappear after few days. If you discontinue using this medicine for your child, there is a chance that the infection may recur. The reconstituted suspension may be stored under refrigeration (2 to 8 degrees Celsius) for a duration of 14 days. Keep away from the reach of children and pets. Do not use it after the expiry date. Ensure that unused medicine is disposed of properly. Do not recommend this medicine to other parents even if their child's condition appears to be the same.

Myfexim-OF Dry Syrup is a combination of Cefixime and Ofloxacin. Cefixime works by interfering with certain processes that help the bacteria to grow and increase in number. Ofloxacin works by inhibiting an enzyme required for the bacterial DNA to replicate, thus stopping bacterial cell division.
