Description
Mucyst 400 mg Injection contains Acetylcysteine that is used as an antidote (a drug or chemical substance that counteracts the effects of another drug or poison) for paracetamol overdose to prevent liver damage. It is very effective when given during the first 8 hours following paracetamol overdose. It can be given up to 24 hours, although the efficiency of the medication decreases significantly after 24 hours of the overdose. Mucyst 400 mg Injection works by increasing antioxidant levels, which reduces the toxic waste of paracetamol in your body. Mucyst 400 mg Injection shows some common side effects like fever, rash, stomach discomfort, nausea, and vomiting. If these side effects persist for a long time, inform your doctor at the earliest. Your doctor will try other means to reduce or prevent the side effects. Inform your doctor if you have a known allergy to this medicine. Mucyst 400 mg Injection should be given in a clinical setting by specialized healthcare professionals.
