Description
Mozep 2 mg Tablet is used to treat an uncontrollable need to repeat certain movements or sounds associated with Tourette's syndrome. It is only used when other medicines are not effective for treating this condition.

General warnings

CYP 2D6 inhibitors

This medicine is not recommended for use with other strong CYP 2D6 inhibitors due to the increased risk of severe side effects.

Acute alcohol intoxication

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with acute alcohol intoxication due to the increased risk of respiratory depression or coma.

Tardive Dyskinesia

Prolonged use of this medicine may cause symptoms of tardive dyskinesia, a condition characterized by involuntary movements of tongue, lips, face, jaw, trunk, and/or the extremities. Therapy may need to be discontinued based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Tics

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with simple tics or tics other than those associated with Tourette's syndrome.

Hyperprolactinemia

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a history of hyperprolactinemia since this medicine may further elevate serum prolactin levels. Close monitoring of prolactin levels is recommended for such patients. The therapy may be discontinued based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Parkinsonism

This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients with a history of parkinsonism due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Renal diseases

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with severe renal diseases due to the increased risk of serious side effects.

Liver diseases

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with severe liver diseases due to the increased risk of serious side effects.

Missed Dose

If a dose of Mozep 2 mg Tablet is missed, take the dose as soon as you remember it. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.

Seizure disorders

This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients with seizure disorders due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition. An alternative treatment option should be considered based on the clinical condition.

Pituitary tumors

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a history of pituitary tumors due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition. An alternative treatment option should be considered based on the clinical condition.
Food interactions
Consumption of caffeine is not recommended during treatment with this medicine. Combined use may increase the levels of Mozep 2 mg Tablet in blood and may affect the heart rhythm. Seek immediate medical attention in case of any symptoms such as an irregular heartbeat, chest tightness, blurred vision, or nausea.
Consumption of grapefruit or grapefruit juice is not recommended during treatment with this medicine. Combined use may increase the levels of Mozep 2 mg Tablet in blood and may affect the heart rhythm. Seek immediate medical attention in case of any symptoms such as an irregular heartbeat, chest tightness, fainting, shortness of breath, blurred vision, or nausea.
