ContainsMoxifloxacin
Description
Moxifax 0.5% Ointment is an antibiotic. It is used to treat bacterial conjunctivitis, an eye infection caused by bacteria. It works by blocking the action of an enzyme required for bacterial multiplication. This prevents further growth and kills the infection-causing bacteria. Moxifax 0.5% Ointment may cause side effects such as mild itching and irritation and eye discomfort. These symptoms usually subside on their own, however, consult your doctor if these symptoms remain for a long time or if they become severe. Moxifax 0.5% Ointment should be instilled in your eyes as prescribed by your doctor. You will start to feel better in a few days. However, continue using the medicine for the prescribed duration. Skipping doses or not completing the full course of therapy may result in decreased effectiveness of the medicine or increased risk of re-infection that would be difficult to treat in the future. This medicine is effective only for the treatment of infections caused by bacteria and not viruses. Moxifax 0.5% Ointment should be avoided if you are allergic to it. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
