Manufactured byGLENMARK PHARMACEUTICALS LTD
ContainsMometasone (0.1 %w/w) + Salicylic Acid (5 %w/w)
Description
Momates S Ointment is a combination of Mometasone and Salicylic Acid. It is used in the treatment of dermatitis (skin irritation), eczema (a skin condition that causes red, dry, and itchy skin), and psoriasis (itchy and scaly patches on the skin). It provides relief from symptoms such as redness, dryness, itchiness, and scaly patches by blocking the release of chemicals that cause such symptoms. It also softens and loosens the scaly or thickened skin and sheds the dead skin. Momates S Ointment causes common side effects such as mild itching or burning sensation, peeling, and change in the colour of the affected skin area. These side effects usually subside with time. However, if they persist or become worse, consult your doctor for further assistance. Momates S Ointment is meant for external use on the skin only. Do not swallow the medicine. Apply this medicine to the affected part of your skin as directed by your doctor. Continue using this medicine for the prescribed duration to avoid a flare-up of your symptoms. Avoid contact with the eyes or mouth. Momates S Ointment is not recommended if you are allergic to it. It should be used with caution if you have diabetes, hyperadrenocorticism (excessive production of cortisol hormone in the body), or eye conditions (such as abnormally high pressure within the eyes or clouding of the natural lens of the eye). Prolonged use of this medicine should be done with caution if you have liver or kidney conditions. It is not recommended to treat rashes caused by diaper use. Momates S Ointment is not recommended for use in children less than two years of age. It should not be used in children with flu symptoms or chickenpox unless recommended by the doctor, as it may cause Reye's syndrome (a serious condition that causes swelling in the brain and liver damage). If you are pregnant or are breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using this medicine.
