Description

Mofloren-Unims 0.5% Infusion is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat a variety of infections of the lungs, skin, and abdomen. You should avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to other fluoroquinolones. Use with caution in the elderly population as it increases the risk of Tendinitis and Tendon rupture.

    Mofloren-Unims 0.5% Infusion is used in the treatment of Skin and Structure infection like cellulitis, wound infection and cutaneous abscess caused by Streptococcus pyogenes and Staphylococcus aureus.
  • Intra-abdominal Infection

    Mofloren-Unims 0.5% Infusion is used in the treatment of intra-abdominal infections caused by Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella species.
  • Bronchitis

    Mofloren-Unims 0.5% Infusion is used in the treatment of bronchitis which is an inflammation in lungs caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae and some Mycoplasma pneumoniae.

When not to use?

Contraindications of Mofloren-Unims 0.5% Infusion

  • Allergy

    This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to moxifloxacin, other quinolones, or any other inactive ingredient present along with this medicine.
  • Tendinitis or tendon rupture

    Avoid if you have a past history of tendinitis or tendon rupture after using Mofloren-Unims 0.5% Infusion
  • Myasthenia gravis

    Avoid if you have a past history of myasthenia gravis or family history of myasthenia gravis.

    The missed dose should be taken as soon possible. It is advisable to skip the missed dose if it's already time for your next scheduled dose.

    Avoid using Mofloren-Unims 0.5% Infusion if you experience any chest discomfort. Regular cardiac function tests are to be performed if you have any heart disease (arrhythmia) or family history of heart disease.

    - Use of this medicine is not recommended for women who are breastfeeding due to the adverse effect on the development of the infant's joints. Use only if clearly needed under the supervision of the doctor. Monitoring of undesired effects like diarrhea, diaper rash is necessary.

General warnings

  • Tendinitis and tendon rupture

    - Use of Mofloren-Unims 0.5% Infusion will increase the risk to develop tendinitis or tendon rupture during the treatment or several months after treatment. It will affect the shoulder, hand, the back of your ankle, or other parts of your body. The risk is more if you are above 60 years of age and have a history of kidney, heart, or lung transplant and joint disease. You are also at high risk if you are on corticosteroids like dexamethasone, methylprednisolone or prednisone.
  • Drug-resistance

    - Usage of Mofloren-Unims 0.5% Infusion without sufficient proof or suspicion of a bacterial infection should be avoided. Irrational dosing might fail in providing the benefits and even cause toxicity. It may also increase the risk of development of bacteria that is drug resistant.
  • Central nervous system effects

    - Mofloren-Unims 0.5% Infusion should be used with caution the patients with epilepsy or other CNS disorders. Discontinue the treatment if any symptoms appear until the exact cause is identified.
  • Pediatric use

    - The safety and effectiveness of Mofloren-Unims 0.5% Infusion is not established in the children less than 18 years of age.
