Description
Metron 100 MG Suspension is an antibiotic medicine that contains Metronidazole. It is used in the treatment of infections of the stomach, intestines, liver, lungs, heart, vagina, and skin. It is also used in the combination with other antibiotics in surgical prophylaxis. This medicine acts by killing the bacteria and preventing the spread of infection. Metron 100 MG Suspension may show some common side effects such as dizziness, stomach ache, diarrhoea, metallic taste in the mouth, etc. These side effects are mild and may subside by themselves. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms bother you for a long time or worsen. Avoid consuming alcohol as it may lead to undesired effects like nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, etc. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to it. Metron 100 MG Suspension should be taken after food. Take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Take it every day at the same time for the ease of remembering and for its effectiveness. Do not take more than the prescribed dose. Complete the course of treatment even if you feel better after taking a few doses. Abrupt discontinuation may make this medicine ineffective when used for future infections. If you still feel unwell after completing your antibiotic course, inform your doctor. Metron 100 MG Suspension may not be suitable for all people. Inform your doctor if you have liver problems, low blood count, and your ongoing medications. Blood cell count

Neurologic Toxicity

Use Metron 100 MG Suspension with caution as it may show side effects like convulsions (a sudden, irregular movement of the body, caused by involuntary contraction of muscles), peripheral neuropathy (pain due to nerve damage), headache, and dizziness.

Liver disease

Use Metron 100 MG Suspension with caution if you have liver problems due to the increased risk of liver damage. Your doctor may suggest tests for monitoring your liver condition if necessary while on treatment with this medicine.

Dialysis

Dialysis is the procedure to remove waste products from your blood when the kidney fails to do it. The desired effect of Metron 100 MG Suspension is not achieved if you are undergoing dialysis. Your doctor may schedule the dose for administration after the dialysis procedure or supplemental doses can be given after dialysis.

Antibiotic resistance

Finish your entire course of treatment with Metron 100 MG Suspension, even if the condition gets better to avoid antibiotic resistance (a condition where microbes evolve mechanisms that protect them from the effects of antibiotics). If you still feel unwell after completing your antibiotic course, consult your doctor.

Driving or operating machines

Metron 100 MG Suspension may cause dizziness, confusion, or disorientation in some people. Hence, do not perform activities that require your concentration like driving vehicles or operating machines if you experience any of these symptoms.

Missed Dose

Do not skip any dose of Metron 100 MG Suspension. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if the delay is more than 12 hours, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.

Overdose
