Description
Metrogyl DG Gel Forte is a combination of Chlorhexidine Gluconate and Metronidazole. It is used in the treatment of gingivitis (gum swelling) and ulcers in the mouth. It is also used in the prevention of tooth decay and dental plaque (a soft, sticky biofilm that builds up on the teeth due to bacterial growth). It works by inhibiting the growth of micro-organisms responsible for swelling and ulcers. Metrogyl DG Gel Forte shows side effects such as mild irritation, change in taste, staining of the teeth, etc. Avoid consumption of alcohol while you are using this gel as it may increase the risk of undesired effects. Metrogyl DG Gel Forte should be applied as directed by the doctor. Wash your hands properly before applying the gel to the affected area. Avoid swallowing the gel. Do not use more than the recommended dose. Take it for the recommended duration for better results. Avoid contact with the eyes and rinse thoroughly with water in case of accidental contact. Metrogyl DG Gel Forte is not recommended if you are allergic to it. If you are pregnant or are breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using this medicine. Do not swallow the gel. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts than prescribed. Do not stop the use of this medicine without consulting your doctor. Metrogyl DG Gel Forte may cause staining of the teeth. It may be removed by regular brushing. Also, avoid long-term use of this medicine. The use of this medicine may have a bitter aftertaste. However, avoid rinsing your mouth immediately with water as it can decrease the effectiveness of the medicine. Also, do not eat or drink for at least 30 minutes after applying the gel.
