All drugs interact differently for person to person. You should check all the possible interactions with your doctor before starting any medicine.
Disease interactions
Diabetes is a condition with high blood sugar levels. Metpure-H (12.5/50 mg) Tablet should be used with caution if you have diabetes due to the increased risk of altered blood sugar levels and glycosuria (presence of sugar in the urine). Monitor your blood sugar levels regularly while you are taking this medicine.
Hyperuricaemia is a condition with high blood uric acid levels. Metpure-H (12.5/50 mg) Tablet should be used with caution if you have a history of gout (a form of arthritis that occurs due to the deposition of uric acid crystals in your joints) or serve kidney problems, as this medicine may decrease uric acid excretion from the body.
Metpure-H (12.5/50 mg) Tablet is broken down by the liver and should be used with caution if you have pre-existing liver problems due to the increased risk of undesired effects, resulting from the accumulation of this medicine in your body. This medicine may also increase your risk of liver damage. Your doctor may suggest tests to monitor your liver function and recommend dose adjustments based on your clinical condition.
Glaucoma is a condition in which your intraocular pressure (fluid pressure inside your eyeballs) is abnormally high, which may lead to optic nerve damage and eventual loss of vision. Metpure-H (12.5/50 mg) Tablet should be used with caution if you have glaucoma due to the increased risk of worsening your condition.
Hyperlipidaemia is a condition with high blood lipid (cholesterol/fats) levels. Metpure-H (12.5/50 mg) Tablet may further increase your blood cholesterol levels and should be used with caution if you have hyperlipidaemia.
Electrolyte abnormalities
Metpure-H (12.5/50 mg) Tablet may alter the blood volume levels and electrolyte levels in your body. Hence your doctor may monitor your blood pressure and electrolyte levels while you are taking this medicine. Report any symptoms such as weakness, lethargy, dry mouth muscle pain, drowsiness, dizziness, irregular heartbeat, etc. to your doctor immediately.
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus is a condition in which your body's immune system attacks your tissues and organs, causing severe fatigue and joint pain. Metpure-H (12.5/50 mg) Tablet should be used with caution if you have this condition as this medicine may worsen your symptoms.
Metpure-H (12.5/50 mg) Tablet may cause azotemia (elevated levels of urea and other nitrogen compounds in the blood) if you have a history of severe renal problems. Hence, your doctor may suggest tests to monitor your kidney function and recommend dose adjustments based on your clinical condition.
Myasthenia gravis is a condition that causes weakness in your skeletal muscles (the muscles in the body that is responsible for movement). Metpure-H (12.5/50 mg) Tablet should be used with caution if you have myasthenia gravis as it may worsen your symptoms and cause severe muscle weakness.
Phaeochromocytoma is a condition with a non-cancerous tumour in your adrenal glands (glands located above your kidneys), which results in high blood pressure. Metpure-H (12.5/50 mg) Tablet should be used with caution if you have pheochromocytoma, as it may cause a paradoxical increase in blood pressure. Your doctor may prescribe additional anti-hypertensive medicines to help control your high blood pressure if you have phaeochromocytoma.
Psoriasis is a chronic (long-term) skin condition that causes a skin rash with red, itchy, or scaly patches. Metpure-H (12.5/50 mg) Tablet should be used with caution if you have psoriasis as it may further aggravate your condition.
Metpure-H (12.5/50 mg) Tablet should be used with caution if you have respiratory conditions such as asthma (a condition in which the airways become inflamed and produce extra mucous, which makes it difficult to breathe) or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD; a group of lung diseases that block airflow and make it difficult to breathe). Metpure-H (12.5/50 mg) Tablet may cause shortness of breath and also worsen other respiratory symptoms.
