Description
Metoz L (2.5/50 mg) Tablet is a combination medicine used for the treatment of high blood pressure. Frequent monitoring of blood pressure and electrolytes level is necessary during treatment with this medicine. Patients are advised to maintain a strict exercise and diet regimen along with this medicine to get the best possible effect.

Allergy

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with anuria, a condition where the kidney is unable to produce urine.

Severe liver impairment

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known history of severe liver impairment due to the increased risk of hepatic coma and pre-coma. It is not recommended for use in patients with hepatic coma or pre-coma due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Aliskiren

Coadministration of aliskiren and this combination medicine is not recommended due to the increased risk of serious adverse effects. This risk is especially higher in the elderly population and in patients with diabetes and kidney diseases.

Pregnancy

This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women due to the increased risk of fetal harm. Your doctor may prescribe a safer alternative based on the clinical condition.

Breast-feeding

This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking this medicine. General warnings

Volume and electrolyte imbalance

This medicine may alter the blood volume and electrolyte levels in some patients. This may cause dizziness, dry mouth, and acid-base imbalance. This risk is especially higher in patients suffering from kidney and liver diseases. Close monitoring of blood pressure and electrolyte levels is recommended for such patients. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.

Renal diseases

This medicine may cause Azotemia in patients with a known history of severe renal diseases. Close monitoring of kidney function is necessary while taking this medicine. Replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.

Hypotension

Symptomatic hypotension may occur in patients with volume depletion or patients who are treated with high-dose diuretics. It is advised to correct this condition before initiating treatment with this combination medicine.

Hyperkalemia

This medicine may increase the potassium levels in the blood (hyperkalemia). This may cause serious side effects such as fatal cardiac rhythm irregularities. It is advised to avoid potassium-rich foods (potatoes, bananas) and other medicines that may increase potassium levels (ACE inhibitors and potassium supplements) during treatment with this medicine.

Hepatic impairment

This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients with liver impairment due to an increase in the risk of serious adverse effects including coma. Close monitoring of liver function is advised while taking this medicine. Report any symptoms of confusion or jaundice to the doctor on priority. Replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition.

Pediatric population

This medicine is not recommended for use in children since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.

Congestive heart failure

Angioedema
