Description
Metaloc Am (5/50 mg) Tablet is a combination medicine that consists of amlodipine and metoprolol. It is used for the treatment of high blood pressure, abnormal heart rhythms and heart failure. It slows down the activity of your heart and relaxes your blood vessels, allowing your heart to pump blood more easily. This helps to prevent abnormally fast heartbeats and reduces your blood pressure. This medicine is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age. Metaloc Am (5/50 mg) Tablet can cause some common side effects like headache, itching, swelling (anywhere on your body), flushing (sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck and trunk), slow heart rate, tiredness, nausea, stomach pain, constipation and feeling of cold in the fingers and toes. Consult your doctor if these side effects become severe. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to it. This medicine is known to cause temporary headaches in the first week, inform your doctor if this effect persists. Metaloc Am (5/50 mg) Tablet can make you feel dizzy when you stand up suddenly, so it is advised that you get up slowly from a sitting or lying position. Avoid driving or operating machines as this medicine can cause drowsiness and can affect your mental focus. Metaloc Am (5/50 mg) Tablet can be taken with or without food. Take this medicine same time every day for the ease of remembering it. Avoid any potassium-rich foods like bananas while taking this medicine. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor as abrupt stopping may cause serious conditions like a stroke or a heart attack.
