Allergy

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to Chlorpheniramine, Phenylephrine, and any other inactive ingredients present in the formulation.

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI)

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI) due to the increased risk of serious and life-threatening side effects. A time gap of at least 14 days should be maintained between stopping therapy with MAOIs and starting therapy with this medicine.

Narrow angle glaucoma

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients suffering from narrow-angle glaucoma due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Stenosing Peptic Ulcer

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients suffering from a stenosing peptic ulcer due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate)

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients suffering from benign prostatic hyperplasia due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

How it works
Phenylephrine acts by reducing the swelling of the blood vessels in the nasal passages, making it easier to breathe. Chlorpheniramine blocks the action of certain substances produced by the body which induces allergic reactions. Thus, the combination is better effective for treating symptoms caused by various conditions such as a common cold, sinusitis, rhinitis, etc.
