Description
Magneon Injection is used to correct the magnesium levels in patients with low magnesium levels in the body when the patient is not able to tolerate oral supplements. It is also used for the prevention and control of seizures associated with pre-eclampsia (a pregnancy complication characterized by increased blood pressure and protein in the urine) and eclampsia (occurrence of seizures in pregnant women with severe preeclampsia).

Allergy

Hypercalcemia

Myocardial damage

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with myocardial damage due to the risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Diabetic coma

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with diabetic coma due to the risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

General warnings

Hypermagnesaemia

Use of this medicine may increase the magnesium levels in the blood. The risk is especially higher in patients suffering from kidney diseases. Report any symptoms such as flushing of the skin, increased thirst, difficulty in breathing, changes in heart rate, etc. to the doctor immediately. Close monitoring of magnesium levels, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Other uses

Your doctor may prescribe this medicine for indications other than those stated above in certain specific circumstances, especially if other medicines are not effective. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor in such cases.

Liver impairment

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with liver impairment due to the risk of worsening of the patient's condition. How it works
This medicine corrects the magnesium levels in the blood. It decreases acetylcholine release, inhibits action potentials in the myocardium, favors movement of calcium, potassium, and sodium in and out of cells and also works by stabilizing the brain cells.
