Luliconazole

Description

Luliconazole is an antifungal medicine that is used to treat fungal skin infections such as athletes' feet (fungal infection of the skin on the feet and between the toes), jock itch (fungal infection of the skin in the groin or buttocks), ringworm (fungal skin infection that causes a red scaly rash on different parts of your body), etc. Luliconazole works by killing the fungus by damaging their cell wall formation. Luliconazole should only be used externally. It comes in different dosage forms such as creams, sprays, soaps and dusting powders. Your doctor may prescribe you the dose, duration and dosage form based on the severity and location of the fungal infection. Luliconazole may cause some side effects like burning, irritation, itching, and redness at the application site. These symptoms last only for a very few days and disappear with time. Seek your doctor's consultation if these side effects do not resolve with time or worsen. Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to it. Luliconazole should be applied sufficiently to cover the affected area and 1 inch of the immediate surrounding skin. Clean and dry the affected area before application. Keep the affected area clean and dry because the presence of water can increase fungal growth. Avoid getting it in your eyes, nose or mouth. Rinse immediately with plenty of water if accidental exposure of Luliconazole to these areas occurs. Luliconazole can take a few weeks to clear the infection and a few months for your skin to become normal. Inform your doctor if the infection has not cleared up after four weeks of treatment. This medicine should be used in children only upon your doctor's advice. Luliconazole can be effective when you share the information about the usage of any other cream, lotion or intake of any steroidal medicine with your doctor. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding.
