Description

Lukotas-FX Tablet is a combination medicine used to relieve the symptoms of allergic rhinitis. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients less than 15 years of age.

General warnings

Systemic Eosinophilia

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known history of systemic eosinophilia due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Behaviour and mood changes

This medicine may cause changes in behavior and mood in some patients. Symptoms such as agitation, irritability, anxiety, unusual dreams, suicidal thoughts, etc. should be reported to the doctor on priority. This risk is especially higher in patients with a history of psychiatric disorders. Replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary in some cases based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Pediatric Use

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients less than 15 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.

Liver impairment

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a known history of liver diseases due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition. Close monitoring of liver function tests, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Renal impairment

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a known history of renal diseases due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. Close monitoring of kidney function tests, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Driving or Operating machinery

This medicine may rarely cause symptoms such as drowsiness or dizziness in some patients. It is advised that you do not perform any activities such as driving a vehicle or operating heavy machinery if you experience any of these symptoms during treatment with this medicine.

Missed Dose

The missed dose should be taken as soon as possible. It is advisable to skip the missed dose if it is already time for your next scheduled dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose

Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose.

Food interactions
Do not consume large quantities of juices of fruits such as grapefruit, orange, apple, etc. since these juices may reduce the effectiveness of this medicine.
Lab interactions

Skin allergy test

Report the use of this medicine before undergoing a skin allergy test. This medicine may interfere with the results of this test and hence, your doctor may advise you to discontinue the use of this medicine at least 2 to 4 days before undergoing this test.
Take this medicine as instructed by the doctor. Follow all the uptake instructions mentioned on the label. This medicine can be taken with or without food. The quantity consumed should not be higher than the prescribed dose. Consult the doctor if you experience any undesirable side effects. Ensure that the treatment course is completed. Do not stop the use of this medicine without consulting your doctor.

How it works
Montelukast acts by blocking the response of certain specific chemicals that cause allergic reactions in the body. Fexofenadine reduces the concentration of histamine, a substance responsible for causing allergic responses in the body. Their combination is thus better effective for the treatment of allergic rhinitis.
