Description
Lotepred Eye Drops is a steroid medicine used to treat swelling and redness of the eyes caused by infection, allergies, and other conditions or after eye surgery. It works by stopping the release of certain substances that cause swelling and redness. Lotepred Eye Drops shows side effects like irritation, burning sensation, or watery eyes. These side effects usually resolve with time. Consult your doctor if they persist or worsen. It may also cause temporary blurring of vision after instilling eye drops. Avoid driving vehicles or operating machines until your vision is clear. Avoid using this medicine if you are allergic to it. Lotepred Eye Drops should be used as prescribed by your doctor. Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before administering other medications in the same eye to avoid dilution. Avoid using this medicine for more than the prescribed duration. Avoid touching the tip of the dropper to any surface to prevent contamination. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before instilling eye drops and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back in your eyes. Lotepred Eye Drops is not likely to interact with other medications taken orally or as an injection. However, it is always better to consult your doctor before using this medicine. Allergy

Lotepred Eye Drops is not recommended for use if you have an untreated bacterial or fungal infection of the eyes and surrounding structures. This medicine may mask the symptoms of an infection and further worsen your condition.

General warnings

Contact lens

Consult your doctor for the use of contact lenses after eye surgery. If your doctor does recommend the use of contact lenses post-surgery, they should be removed prior to the administration of Lotepred Eye Drops. Wait for 15 minutes before putting them back on the eyes.

Driving or operating machines

Lotepred Eye Drops may cause temporary blurring of vision or other vision changes after instilling the eye drops. Avoid driving vehicles or operating machines until your vision is clear.

Use in children

Ocular Toxicities

Prolonged use of Lotepred Eye Drops may cause cataracts (clouding of the lens of the eyes) or glaucoma (a condition that damages the nerves of the eyes due to high pressure inside the eye). Hence, it should be used with caution if you have a history of cataracts, glaucoma, or increased intraocular pressure (high pressure inside the eye caused by an imbalance in the production and drainage of fluid in the eye).

Instill Lotepred Eye Drops to the affected eye(s) as instructed by your doctor. Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for one minute immediately after instilling Lotepred Eye Drops.
