Description

Liraglutide is an antidiabetic medicine used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes in adult patients. Patients are advised to follow a strict diet and exercise regimen along with this medicine for the best possible effect. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with type 1 diabetes and diabetic ketoacidosis.

General warnings

Gastrointestinal blockage

This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients suffering from gastrointestinal blockage due to the increased risk of severe side effects.

Pancreatitis

This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients with a known history of pancreatitis due to the increased risk of recurrent pancreatitis.

Thyroid Carcinoma

Liraglutide is not recommended for use in patients with a known history of Thyroid Carcinoma since the safety and efficacy of this medicine have not been established for such patients.

Missed Dose

If a dose of Liraglutide is missed, administer it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.

Pancreatitis

Report any symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, etc. to the doctor immediately. Therapy with the medicine may be discontinued based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Thyroid Carcinoma

Liraglutide is not recommended for use in patients with a known history of Thyroid Carcinoma since the safety and efficacy of this medicine have not been established for such patients.

Renal Dysfunction

This medicine should be administered with extreme caution in patients with a history of kidney diseases due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition. Close monitoring of kidney function is recommended for such patients. Replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition.

Cardiovascular disease

This medicine should be administered with extreme caution in patients with a history of cardiovascular diseases due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition. Close monitoring of heart function is recommended for such patients. Replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition.

Liver Disease

This medicine should be administered with extreme caution in patients with a history of liver diseases due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.
