Description
Lichensa Ointment is a combination of Boric Acid, Clotrimazole, Zinc Oxide, and Menthol. It is a topical medicine used to treat fungal skin infections between fingers and toes. It is also used to treat boils, bedsores, cracks on the heels, jock itch (a fungal infection that causes a red and itchy rash in warm and moist areas of the body), and diaper rash. Lichensa Ointment may cause side effects like burning sensation, irritation, itching, and redness at the site of application. However, these side effects are temporary and resolve with time. Before you start using this ointment, perform a patch test by applying it to a small area on your skin to know how your skin will react to it. Discontinue the use if you experience excessive itching, irritation, or swelling. Lichensa Ointment is recommended for external use only. Clean and dry the affected area before applying this medication. To see the effects of this medicine, use it regularly as advised by your doctor. If you discontinue this medicine early, it may increase the risk of further infection that would be difficult to treat. Lichensa Ointment may interact with other medications, hence inform your doctor if you are using any other topical medicines for the same or other skin conditions. This medicine is usually safe for use in pregnancy. However, it is better to consult your doctor before using it.
