Description
Libacef 125 MG Oral Suspension is a cephalosporin antibiotic. It is used to treat bacterial infections affecting the nose, throat, ears, skin and urinary tract - the kidneys, bladder, ureters, or urethra. This suspension kills or stops the growth of bacteria causing the infection. It is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Common side effects of Libacef 125 MG Oral Suspension are diarrhoea, stomach pain, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Do not take this medicine if you are previously allergic to it. When Libacef 125 MG Oral Suspension is taken along with medications which reduce or prevent stomach acids like antacids, proton pump inhibitors or H2 blockers, it can delay Libacef 125 MG Oral Suspension actions on the body. Therefore, take this antibiotic at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after taking such medications. Libacef 125 MG Oral Suspension should be taken with food. For the ease of remembering, take/administer this cefuroxime suspension around the same time every day. Once an antibiotic is started, it is always recommended to finish the entire course of treatment. It should only be used to treat or prevent infections that are caused by bacteria. Taking an antibiotic when it is not required can make it less effective for future infections.

Antibiotic resistance

Finish your entire course of treatment with Libacef 125 MG Oral Suspension, even if the condition gets better to avoid antibiotic resistance (the bacteria may become resistant to antibiotics). If you still feel unwell after completing your antibiotic course, make an appointment to consult your doctor.

Use in children

Libacef 125 MG Oral Suspension is not recommended for use in infants less than 3 months of age.

Antacids

Using an antacid containing aluminium and magnesium salts for indigestion, it can increase the time it takes for Libacef 125 MG Oral Suspension to act on the body. Because of this, it is recommended to take/administer this antibiotic at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after taking antacids.

Therefore use Libacef 125 MG Oral Suspension with extreme caution in patients with gastrointestinal (mouth to anus) diseases, particularly colitis (swelling of the inner lining of the colon), since it may worsen the patient's condition.

Seizure disorders

Use Libacef 125 MG Oral Suspension with caution in patients with seizures or fits because it can trigger the condition. Seizure medicines should be continued in patients with a known seizure disorder. Dose adjustment for Libacef 125 MG Oral Suspension might be required in some patients.

Kidney disease
