Levobunolol

Description

Levobunolol is used for the treatment of increased fluid pressure inside the eye (intraocular hypertension) and open-angle glaucoma, a progressive condition that may eventually lead to vision loss. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients below 18 years of age.

General warnings

Use in children

Cerebrovascular insufficiency

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with conditions that obstruct the blood supply to the brain due to the increased risk of worsening of the existing condition. Close monitoring of clinical condition, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the patient's condition.

Contact lens

Based on the severity of your symptoms, your doctor may advise you to avoid the use of contact lenses. If you are allowed to use contact lenses, remove them prior to the administration of the eye drops. They can be reinserted 15 minutes post administration.

Driving or Operating macinery

Use of this medicine may cause symptoms such as blurred vision, fatigue, drowsiness, etc. in some patients. If you experience any of these symptoms, it is advised that you do not perform any activities such as driving a vehicle or operating machinery until your symptoms clear.

WADA Category-P2 - Beta-Blockers (Sports)

Athletes are advised not to indulge in certain sports while using this medicine. Archery, racing, shooting and other high-risk sports should be avoided. Sportspersons should refer to the list of medicines published by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) which are not to be taken while participating in specific sports events.

Corneal diseases

This medicine should be used with caution in patients suffering from diseases that affect the cornea, a layer that covers the front part of the eye, since it medicine may induce dryness of the eyes. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Missed Dose

Administer the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed one.
