Allergy

Ventricular tachycardia

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI)

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI) due to the increased risk of serious and life-threatening side effects. A time gap of at least 14 days should be maintained between stopping therapy with MAOIs and starting therapy with this medicine.

Causes sleepiness

How it works
Dextromethorphan blocks the signals from the brain that trigger cough reflex and thus it helps in suppressing the cough. Phenylephrine acts by reducing the swelling of the blood vessels in the nasal passages, making it easier to breathe. Bromhexine works by thinning the mucus in the airway and promoting mucus clearance.
