Pregnancy
Lanoxin 0.25 MG Tablet should only be taken in pregnancy after consulting with your doctor.
Breast-feeding
Lanoxin 0.25 MG Tablet may pass into breast milk in small amounts. Hence, consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you are breastfeeding.
General warnings
Use in elderly population
Lanoxin 0.25 MG Tablet should be used with extreme caution in the elderly above 65 years of age due to the risk of side effects.
Other medicines
Lanoxin 0.25 MG Tablet may interact with certain medicines and cause undesired effects. Hence, it is advised that you inform the doctor about all your current medicines, including any herbs and supplements, before beginning treatment with this medicine.
Driving vehicles and operating machines
Lanoxin 0.25 MG Tablet may cause symptoms such as dizziness, visual disturbances, drowsiness, weakness, etc. Hence avoid performing activities that require mental alertness, such as driving vehicles or operating machines, if you experience any of these symptoms.
Digoxin toxicity
Lanoxin 0.25 MG Tablet has an increased risk of toxicity due to its narrow safety index (small differences in dose or blood concentration may lead to an increased risk of serious side effects). Take this medicine exactly as instructed by your doctor. Any symptoms such as anorexia, nausea, vomiting, visual changes, and cardiac arrhythmias (irregular heart rhythm) should be informed to your doctor.
Heart attack
Lanoxin 0.25 MG Tablet should be used with caution if you have a heart attack (a life-threatening condition that may occur due to the blockage of blood flow to the heart), as it can worsen your condition. Follow all the instructions given by your doctor.
Slow heartbeats
Lanoxin 0.25 MG Tablet should be used with caution if you have slow heartbeats, as it can worsen your condition. Follow all the instructions given by your doctor.
Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome
Lanoxin 0.25 MG Tablet should be used with caution if you have Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome (an extra electrical signal in the heart leading to rapid heartbeats), as it can worsen your condition. Follow all the instructions given by your doctor.
Kidney disease
Lanoxin 0.25 MG Tablet is filtered by the kidneys. Hence it should be used with caution if you have kidney problems due to the increased risk of side effects. Your doctor may recommend dose adjustments based on your clinical condition.
Thyroid disease
Lanoxin 0.25 MG Tablet should be used with caution if you have a thyroid condition (inability of the thyroid gland to produce an adequate amount of hormones) due to the increased risk of undesired effects. Follow all the instructions given by your doctor.
Electrolyte imbalance
Lanoxin 0.25 MG Tablet should be used with caution if you have an electrolyte imbalance (low levels of magnesium and potassium in the blood) in the body, due to the increased risk of undesired effects. Follow all the instructions given by your doctor.
Myocarditis
Lanoxin 0.25 MG Tablet should be used with caution if you have myocarditis (swelling of the heart muscle), as it can worsen your condition. Follow all the instructions given by your doctor.
Beri Beri heart disease
Lanoxin 0.25 MG Tablet should be used with caution if you have Beri Beri heart disease (a heart condition caused due to lack of Vitamin B1 in the body), as you may fail to respond adequately to the treatment. Follow all the instructions given by your doctor.
