Karplat 450 MG Infusionis an anticancer medicine that is used in the treatment of ovarian cancer (cancer of the ovary, part of the female reproductive organs that produces eggs) and lung cancer. This medicine works by preventing the growth of cancer cells by damaging the genetic material (DNA and RNA) which is required for their growth and development. Karplat 450 MG Infusion causes side effects like nausea, vomiting, temporary hair loss, pain, and weakness. This medicine may decrease the number of blood cells (red and white blood cells) in your body, making you more susceptible to infections or bleeding. Inform your doctor if you experience a fever, sore throat, chills, unusual bleeding or bruises, or dark urine. Karplat 450 MG Infusion is given by a qualified medical practitioner, therefore do not self-administer. Your doctor will determine the appropriate dose and duration of the therapy. This can vary depending on the severity of your condition. It may take many weeks or months for you to notice or feel the effects, but do not stop taking it until your doctor advises you to do so. Karplat 450 MG Infusion can affect your heart, liver, and kidney adversely. Inform your doctor if you have any heart, liver, or kidney problems before starting this medicine. Allergy

Anaemia

Karplat 450 MG Infusion is known to cause severe myelosuppression (decrease in bone marrow activity which leads to a reduction in blood cells) as well as dose-dependent thrombocytopenia [decrease in blood platelets (blood cells responsible for clot formation) count]. Treatment with Karplat 450 MG Infusion is not recommended in patients with anaemia as it can worsen their condition. If you experience any signs or symptoms of bleeding, such as petechiae (red, brown spots o the skin surface), purpura (purple or black spots due to bleeding under the skin), epistaxis (nose bleeding), etc., report to your doctor as soon as possible.

Severe myelosuppression

Severe myelosuppression is a decrease in bone marrow activity which leads to a reduction in blood cells count. Karplat 450 MG Infusion is not recommended if you have myelosuppression as it can worsen your condition and may lead to leukopenia (low white blood cell count), thrombocytopenia (low platelet count) and anaemia (low red blood cell count).
Warnings for special population

Pregnancy

Treatment with Karplat 450 MG Infusion is not recommended during pregnancy as it may be harmful to the foetus. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant and discuss the risk and benefits of this medicine in pregnancy.

Breast-feeding

It is not known if Karplat 450 MG Infusion passes into breastmilk. Hence, you should stop breastfeeding while on therapy with medicine to avoid harmful effects on the infant.
General warnings

Impaired kidney function

Karplat 450 MG Infusion is excreted via the kidney. Take this medicine with caution if you have severely damaged kidneys.

Hearing impairment

Karplat 450 MG Infusionmay cause hearing problems which is more common in children. It is advised to get audiometric testing (a test to know the ability to hear sounds) done before initiating the treatment and also before every dose. If you experience any hearing problems, inform your doctor.

Allergy

Karplat 450 MG Infusion may cause serious skin reactions. Inform your doctor about the symptoms and discontinue the treatment.

Driving or operating heavy machines

Karplat 450 MG Infusion may cause blurred vision or dizziness. If you experience any of these symptoms while taking this medication, it is recommended that you avoid doing any activities that require focus such as driving or operating machines.

Infections
