Description

Hyaluronic Acid is used to relieve pain in patients suffering from osteoarthritis who have failed to achieve adequate relief from simple painkillers or from exercise and physical therapy. It is also used during plastic surgery to reduce wrinkles or folds on the face and for lip enhancements in adults over the age of 21.

General warnings

Inflammation

This medicine may cause inflammation (swelling, redness, etc.) in the injected knee in some patients. If the symptoms are severe, contact your doctor immediately for further instructions. To prevent these symptoms and to treat mild to moderate symptoms, your doctor may advise you to rest your knee or apply ice for a short time after the injection.

Joint effusion

Patients with joint effusion should be treated first before receiving this medicine since it may worsen the patient's condition.

Strenuous activities

You are recommended to avoid strenuous activities such as jogging, tennis, heavy lifting, standing on your feet for a long time, etc. for at least 48 hours after receiving an injection in the knee.

Missed Dose

Since this medicine is administered by a qualified health care professional in the clinical/hospital setting, the likelihood of missing a dose is very low. If you miss a scheduled appointment for a dose of this medicine, contact your doctor for further instructions.

Overdose
