Warnings for special population
Pregnancy
Hisone 5 mg Tablet should only be taken during pregnancy upon your doctor's recommendation. Discuss all the risks and benefits associated with the use of this medicine if you are pregnant.
Breast-feeding
Hisone 5 mg Tablet is not recommended for use while breastfeeding unless absolutely necessary. Hence consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you are breastfeeding.
General warnings
Other diseases
If you have any other medical condition, consult your doctor before taking Hisone 5 mg Tablet as the chances of any interactions while consuming this medicine must be ruled out.
Infections
Hisone 5 mg Tablet should be used with caution as it suppress the activity of the immune system and increase the risk of infections.
Vaccination
Hisone 5 mg Tablet should be avoided if you have been vaccinated recently or planning to get any vaccination, as it can make the vaccine ineffective. Hence consult your doctor before taking this medicine. Your doctor may advise you of an appropriate time gap between the administration of the vaccine and the medicine.
Tuberculosis relapse
Hisone 5 mg Tablet should be used with caution if you have a history of tuberculosis (lung infection), as it may cause a recurrence of the condition.
Driving vehicles or operating veavy machines
Hisone 5 mg Tablet may cause dizziness in some cases. Hence avoid driving vehicles or operating heavy machines if you feel dizzy after taking the medicine.
Abrupt discontinuation
Avoid abrupt discontinuation of Hisone 5 mg Tablet as it may cause withdrawal symptoms such as drowsiness, confusion, headache, fever, etc. Your doctor may reduce the dose gradual over a period to avoid such undesired effects.
Use in children
Treatment with Hisone 5 mg Tablet should be considered in children only under a doctor's supervision as it may cause growth retardation in some children.
Other medicines
Hisone 5 mg Tablet may interact with certain medications and cause undesired effects. Hence inform your doctor about all your current medicines, including herbs and supplements, before starting the treatment with this medicine.
Psychiatric disturbances
Use of Hisone 5 mg Tablet may cause certain mental disturbances such as euphoria (extreme happiness), sleep disturbances, mood swings, depression, and personality changes. Hence use this medicine with caution in case of depression or psychosis (a mental condition characterised by loss of contact with reality, causing hallucinations and delusions) as it may aggravate the condition.
Liver and kidney conditions
Hisone 5 mg Tablet should be used with caution if you have a liver or kidney condition. Follow all the instructions given by your doctor.
Glaucoma
Hisone 5 mg Tablet should be used with caution if you have glaucoma (increased pressure within the eyes due to fluid accumulation), as it can worsen your condition. Follow all the instructions given by your doctor.
Phaeochromocytoma crisis
Pheochromocytoma crisis is characterised by severe high or low blood pressure resulting in end-organ damage such as myocardial infarction (blockage of blood flow to the heart), kidney failure, or liver failure. Your doctor will analyse all the risks before prescribing Hisone 5 mg Tablet if you have suspected pheochromocytoma (a tumour of the adrenal gland).
