Description

Glucagon is a polypeptide hormone which is used in the treatment of conditions like low blood glucose to increase the concentration of glucose in the blood. It is also used during radiologic examinations of the stomach and gastrointestinal tract for relaxing the smooth muscles. This medicine should be used with caution in the pediatric population.

This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients with a known history of Pheochromocytoma due to the increased risk of a sudden and marked increase in the patient's blood pressure. Close monitoring of blood pressure is necessary for such patients, during treatment with this medicine.
