Description
Gelusil MPS Tablet is a combination of Aluminium hydroxide, Magnesium Aluminium Silicate, Magnesium hydroxide and Simethicone. It is an antacid and is used in the treatment of acidity (excess production of acid in the stomach), flatulence (excessive gas in the stomach), and acid reflux (a condition where stomach acid or bile irritates the food pipe). Therefore, it provides relief from symptoms like indigestion, bloating, upset stomach, heartburn, irritation of the oesophagus (food pipe), etc. Gelusil MPS Tablet may cause some side effects like nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, etc. Most of these side effects will resolve within a few days as your condition improves. Inform your doctor if these symptoms do not resolve or worsen. Gelusil MPS Tablet should be taken one hour after food and at bedtime. Avoid the consumption of alcohol and foods that can cause indigestion like deep-fried, spicy, or fatty foods. Consume a fibre-containing, healthy and balanced diet and drink plenty of water. Gelusil MPS Tablet is not recommended if you are allergic to it. It is not recommended if you have kidney problems except under medical supervision. Gelusil MPS Tablet is recommended for use in children only if prescribed by your paediatrician. Consult your doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

Food interactions

Consuming such foods and beverages along with this medicine may cause severe side effects such as high Aluminium levels or a brain condition, especially in those with kidney impairment. You are advised to maintain a time gap between consuming such foods and the dose of this medicine to avoid their interaction.

How it works
Gelusil MPS Tablet is a combination of Aluminium hydroxide, Magnesium Aluminium Silicate, Magnesium hydroxide and Simethicone. Aluminum Hydroxide and Magnesium Hydroxide reduce the amount of stomach acid and act as an antacid. This, in turn, provides relief from symptoms such as heartburn, sour stomach, etc. Simethicone reduces excessive gas in the stomach and relieves symptoms such as stomach discomfort caused by gas, abdominal pain, and flatulence. Magnesium Aluminium Silicate also reduces stomach acid.
