Description
Gabawin-50 M Tablet is a combination of Pregabalin and Methylcobalamin. It is used in the treatment of neuropathic pain (pain caused due to injury or damage to the nerve). It relieves pain by reducing the release of certain chemicals that send pain signals throughout your body. It also helps to repair the damaged nerves. Gabawin-50 M Tablet may cause side effects like nausea, dry mouth, swelling in your arms or feet, weight gain, weakness, and confusion. These symptoms may subside by themselves. However, consult your doctor if these side effects persist or worsen. Avoid driving vehicles or operating heavy machines as it may cause drowsiness. Gabawin-50 M Tablet may be taken with or without food. Take it at the same time every day for better results. Your doctor will determine the dose and duration of treatment based on your condition. Never take more than the prescribed dose. Avoid the discontinuation of this medicine without consulting your doctor as it may lead to withdrawal symptoms like headache, mood swings, irritation, etc. Gabawin-50 M Tablet should be avoided if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you have kidney or heart problems. It is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age as there are no safety and efficacy data established. General warnings

Kidney disease

Suicidal tendencies

Gabawin-50 M Tablet may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or behaviour. Hence, close observation for change in mood or behaviour is necessary while you are taking this medicine.

Driving or operating machines

Gabawin-50 M Tablet may increase the risk of drowsiness, dizziness, difficulty concentrating, etc. Hence, avoid performing activities such as driving vehicles or operating machines if you experience any of these symptoms.

Withdrawal symptoms

Sudden discontinuation of Gabawin-50 M Tablet may lead to withdrawal symptoms such as irritability, mood swings, depression, nervousness, convulsions (fits), etc. Do not stop the use of this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Heart disease

Use Gabawin-50 M Tablet with caution if you have heart problems as it may cause abnormal heart rhythm which could result in further complications. This medicine may also cause retention of fluid in your body and increase the risk of heart failure. It is more likely to occur in the elderly with compromised heart function. Hence, your doctor will closely monitor the functioning of your heart during treatment with this medicine.

Potential for abuse

Gabawin-50 M Tablet may cause dependency (being habituated to the medicine, unable to function normally without it), especially if you have used other recreational medicines (medicines used for enjoyment and leisure purposes rather than for medical reasons) in the past. Inform your doctor if you had a history of substance abuse before taking this medicine.

High creatinine kinase levels

Myopathy is a condition in which the muscles do not function properly leading to muscle weakness. Use Gabawin-50 M Tablet with caution in such conditions as it may cause an increase in the creatine kinase levels. Thus, it may worsen your condition.

Use in Children

Gabawin-50 M Tablet is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age as the safety and efficacy data are not clinically established.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose of Gabawin-50 M Tablet as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.

Gabawin-50 M Tablet is a combination of Pregabalin and Methylcobalamin. Pregabalin works by reducing the levels of certain chemical substances in the brain and preventing the transmission of pain signals. Methylcobalamin helps in the production of myelin (a substance that protects the nerve fibres) and repairs the damaged nerve cells.
