Description
Ferrous Fumarate is used for the treatment and prevention of iron deficiency anemia when the amount of iron taken in from the diet is not sufficient. It is also be used to treat anemia associated with chronic kidney failure. This medicine is used only to treat hemoglobin abnormalities due to iron deficiency.

General warnings
Achlorhydria
This medicine may have to be used in higher dosages in patients with achlorhydria, a state of decreased gastric secretions of the stomach to achieve the desired effect. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.
Gastrointestinal disorders
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with gastrointestinal irritation or conditions such as peptic ulcer disease, enteritis, ulcerative colitis, etc. due to the risk of worsening of the patient's condition. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.
Use in children
This medicine should be used with extreme caution in children aged less than 6 years due to the risk of severe iron toxicity. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition. Accidental overdose of this medicine may lead to fatal iron poisoning in children below 6 years of age. All iron preparations must be kept away from the reach of children.
