Description
Ferium Xt Tablet is a combination of Ferrous Ascorbate and Folic Acid. It is used in the treatment of iron deficiency anaemia (a condition with a low red blood cell count resulting from low levels of iron in your body). It works by restoring the levels of iron and folic acid (vitamin B9) in your body. Ferium Xt Tablet may cause common side effects such as heartburn, stomach pain, loss of appetite, diarrhoea/constipation, etc. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or worsen. Ferium Xt Tablet should be taken exactly as directed by your doctor. Take it at the same time every day to maintain a constant level of this medicine in your body. Ferium Xt Tablet should be avoided if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you have pre-existing stomach/intestinal problems before beginning treatment with this medicine. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding or are planning a pregnancy, consult your doctor before taking this medication.

Allergy

Porphyria

Ferium Xt Tablet is not recommended if you have porphyria due to the increased risk of worsening your condition.

Haemochromatosis

Haemochromatosis, also known as iron overload, is a genetic condition with high iron levels in your body. Ferium Xt Tablet is not recommended if you have haemochromatosis due to the increased risk of worsening your condition.

Haemosiderosis

Haemosiderosis is a condition characterized by the deposition of haemosiderin (iron-containing pigment) in your organs. Ferium Xt Tablet is not recommended if you have haemosiderosis due to the increased risk of worsening your condition.

Haemolytic anaemia

Haemolytic anaemia is a condition with low red blood cell count due to haemolysis (abnormal breakdown of red blood cells). Ferium Xt Tablet is not recommended if you have haemolytic anaemia due to the increased risk of worsening your condition.
