Evogliptin
Description
Evogliptin contains Evogliptin, an anti-diabetic medicine. It is used to control high blood sugar levels in type II Diabetes mellitus ((high blood sugar levels when your body cannot make or effectively use the insulin it makes to move sugar from the blood into the cells). It works by increasing insulin levels for the uptake of sugar from the blood into the cells. It also lowers the production of a hormone that causes an increase in blood sugar levels.
Evogliptin may cause some side effects like indigestion, nasopharyngitis (inflammation of the nose and throat), joint pain, etc. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist for a long time or become severe.
Evogliptin may be taken with or without food. The dose and duration of treatment will be decided by your doctor based on your clinical condition. Take this medicine at the same time every day for the ease of remembering. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor, as it may cause an increase in blood sugar levels leading to further complications.
Evogliptin is not recommended for use if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you have any kidney problems, pancreatitis (swelling of the pancreas), heart problems, diabetic ketoacidosis (a complication of diabetes in which your body produces high levels of blood acids), or any other medical conditions before taking this medicine. Inform your doctor about all your current medicines to avoid undesired effects.
Evogliptin is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age as the safety and efficacy data are not clinically established.
