Description
ETOGESIC MR TABLET is a combination of Etodolac and Thiocolchicoside. It is a painkiller medicine that provides relief from pain and swelling associated with muscle spasms such as low back pain, neck pain, sprains/strains, arthritis, etc. It works by relaxing your muscles and preventing muscle contraction. It also prevents the release of a chemical substance that causes pain and swelling in your body. ETOGESIC MR TABLET has side effects such as nausea, vomiting, headache, stomach pain, heartburn, and diarrhoea. These side effects usually subside by themselves. However, consult your doctor if they remain for a long time or worsen. Avoid driving vehicles or operating heavy machines as this medicine may cause dizziness and drowsiness. ETOGESIC MR TABLET should be taken with food or immediately after food to avoid any stomach irritation. The dose and duration of treatment will be determined by your doctor based on your condition. Take this medicine as instructed by your doctor. Avoid taking more or less than the prescribed dose. For ease of remembering and better results, take it at the same time every day. Take this medicine for the recommended duration and avoid discontinuation without consulting your doctor, as your symptoms may reappear or worsen. ETOGESIC MR TABLET is not recommended for use if you are allergic to it or have NSAID-induced asthma (breathing problems associated with the use of a class of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) or undergone coronary artery bypass graft surgery (a surgical procedure that diverts the blood from narrowed or blocked vessels in the heart to improve its blood supply). Use this medicine with caution if you have liver, heart, or kidney problems. ETOGESIC MR TABLET is not recommended for use in children below 16 years of age. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or are breastfeeding before taking this medicine.

Allergy

Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (CABG)

ETOGESIC MR TABLET is not recommended for use if you have undergone coronary artery bypass graft surgery (a surgical procedure that diverts the blood from narrowed or blocked vessels in the heart to improve its blood supply). Taking this medicine may increase your risk of heart attack and stroke (a condition that occurs due to reduced blood supply to the brain).

NSAID-induced asthma

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) is a class of medicines used to relieve pain and swelling. Asthma is a condition in which a person's airways become inflamed, narrow, and swell, which makes it difficult to breathe. ETOGESIC MR TABLET is not recommended for use in case of NSAID-induced asthma (breathing problems associated with the use of NSAIDs).

Liver diseases

Hypertension

Hypertension refers to high blood pressure. ETOGESIC MR TABLET should be used with caution as it can cause a new onset of hypertension or worsening of preexisting hypertension. Monitor your blood pressure regularly during treatment with this medicine.

Skin conditions

ETOGESIC MR TABLET should be used with caution as it may cause stevens-johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis (serious skin conditions that cause the skin to develop rashes, blisters, and then peel). Consult your doctor if you develop signs and symptoms such as rashes, hives (itchy, painful eruptions that sting), or other symptoms.

Missed Dose

Try not to skip the scheduled dose of ETOGESIC MR TABLET. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.

Overdose

Never take more than the prescribed dose of ETOGESIC MR TABLET. Seek emergency medical attention in case of overdose for further guidance.
