Description

Esna 5 MG Tablet is used in the treatment of depression and generalized anxiety disorders. It should be started at lower doses and gradually increased. Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly as it may cause withdrawal symptoms like mood changes, irritability, dizziness, numbness in the hands or feet, and difficulty in falling asleep.

When not to use?

Contraindications of Esna 5 MG Tablet

  • Allergy

    Avoid if you have a known allergy to Esna 5 MG Tablet or other medicines of the same class (SSRI).
  • Monoamine oxidase inhibitors

    Do not take are taking MAOIs like selegiline, moclobemide with Esna 5 MG Tablet or within 14 days of stopping Esna 5 MG Tablet. Also, do not take Esna 5 MG Tablet within 14 days of stopping MAOIs.
  • Pimozide

    Do not take these medicines together due to the increased risk of QT prolongation.

Dosage

  • Missed Dose

    If you miss a dose of Esna 5 MG Tablet, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.
  • Overdose

    Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose.

    - Esna 5 MG Tablet may increase the risk of bleeding. Use with caution if you suffering from bleeding disorders or concomitant use of aspirin, NSAIDS and other anticoagulants.
  • Angle-closure glaucoma

    - Use with caution if you are suffering from angle-closure glaucoma or have a history of glaucoma.
  • Suicidal tendency

    - Studies show that these medicines may increase the risk of suicidal thinking and behavior in children, adolescents, and young adults (age between 18 to 24) with major depressive disorder (MDD) and other psychiatric disorders.
  • Impaired kidney and liver function

    - Use with caution in severe kidney disease and liver disease.
