Instructions - Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during treatment with Eplerenone due to the increased risk of hypotension, lightheadedness, fainting, dizziness, etc. It is advised that you do not perform any activities that require high mental alertness such as driving a vehicle or operating heavy machinery if you consume alcohol during treatment with this medicine.
Interaction with Medicine
Eplerenone is not recommended for use in patients with type 2 diabetes due to the increased risk of hyperkalemia and cardiac arrhythmias. Close monitoring of blood potassium levels is recommended for such patients. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.
Eplerenone is not recommended for use in patients with hyperkalemia
due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition. If hyperkalemia occurs during therapy with this medicine, appropriate dose adjustments or discontinuation of therapy may be required based on the clinical condition.
Eplerenone is not recommended for use in patients with severe renal impairment - CrCl <= 30 ml/min or serum creatinine >=2.0 mg/dl in males or >=1.8 mg/dl in females and creatinine clearance of less than 50 ml/minute - due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects.
