Description
Entacom Plus-150 Tablet is a combination medicine used to treat the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. These symptoms may include muscle stiffness, tremors, muscle spasms, poor muscle control, slowness of movement, etc. It may also be used to replace therapy with other medicines (carbidopa and levodopa combinations) if the patient is experiencing wearing-off symptoms. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients less than 18 years of age.

Allergy

Narrow angle glaucoma

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known history of narrow-angle glaucoma due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Nonselective monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients undergoing therapy with non-selective monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or patients who have taken these medicines in the past 14 days due to the increased risk of severe drug-drug interactions. It is advised that patients should inform the doctor about all their current medicines, including any herbs and supplements, before beginning therapy with this medicine.

Driving or Operating Machinery

Liver Diseases

Low blood pressure

How it works
Levodopa gets converted into dopamine in the brain and relieves the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. Carbidopa prevents the breakdown of levodopa in the bloodstream and the stomach. Entacapone helps in increasing and maintaining the effects of levodopa. Thus, the combination is better effective for treating the symptoms of Parkinson's disease.
