Empetus 100 mg Tablet is an antiviral medicine which is used to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). This medicine is not a cure for HIV. It only prevents the virus from multiplying in your body. Monitoring of liver function and blood glucose levels is necessary while receiving this medicine.

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients receiving medicines which are highly dependent on CYP3A for their clearance as well as strong CYP3A inducers due to an alteration in Empetus 100 mg Tablet blood levels which may cause serious and life-threatening reactions.

Breast-feeding

This medicine is recommended for use in breastfeeding women only in life-threatening conditions. The risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking this medicine. Your doctor may advise you to discontinue the drug or discontinue breastfeeding based on your clinical condition.
General warnings

Hepatotoxicity

Empetus 100 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with a history of liver disease and active liver disease. Report to the doctor if any unusual symptoms appear. The dose of the medicine should be adjusted based on the clinical condition.

Bleeding disorder

Empetus 100 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with bleeding disorders like Hemophilia A or Hemophilia B due to an increase in the risk of excessive bleeding. Report any such symptoms to the doctor on priority. The dose of the medicine should be adjusted based on the clinical condition.

Fat Redistribution

Empetus 100 mg Tablet may cause fat gain or fat loss from the body. This may result in peripheral wasting, facial wasting, breast enlargement, and Cushingoid appearance. Close monitoring of body weight and body fat distribution is necessary while receiving this medicine. Any changes in the body should be informed to the doctor on priority.

Diabetes

Empetus 100 mg Tablet may alter the blood glucose levels and may also increase the risk of new-onset diabetes mellitus. Close monitoring of blood glucose levels is necessary while receiving this medicine

Pancreatitis

Empetus 100 mg Tablet may cause pancreatitis in some patients. Report to the doctor if any unusual symptoms appear. The dose of the medicine should be adjusted based on the clinical condition.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost the time for your next scheduled dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up for the missed dose.
